Our fleet maintenance software can help you to make sure your rigs are in roadworthy condition.  Let’s face it: staying on top of all the tasks needed to keep one truck going is challenging enough.  Maintaining a fleet requires the kind of tools that TruckingOffice gives its users.

The “Big Four” Maintenance Chores You Can’t Afford to Forget

While we’re on this topic, let’s review the most crucial steps you or your drivers must take to ensure you get the maximum return on your equipment investment.  Here they are:

  1. It’s essential to check the oil frequently.  This is especially vital before a long run or when an engine has had major overhaul work recently.  Nothing will destroy a diesel engine quicker than ignoring this all-important task.
  2. Almost as crucial as checking the oil is making sure the coolant is up to the right level.  Check both the radiator and the overflow bottle when you perform this job.  Also, be on guard for leaks in the system; even a small one can spell disaster.
  3. Tire pressure can change rapidly, depending on factors like the weather and road conditions.  For this reason, make sure it’s checked at least once a week.  This is a task you can’t afford to ignore.
  4. Your trucks might be able to go down the road just fine.  But, if they can’t stop, then you’ve got a serious problem on your hands.  For this reason, check pads and linings often.  Also, be alert for squealing, vibrating, and other signs of problems.

There are of course dozens of other jobs that come with big rig maintenance besides these four.  Fortunately, with TruckingOffice in your corner you’ll never miss one of these important tasks again.  If you’re not already using our software, why not take it for a free 30-day test drive starting today?
