TruckingOffice – Mid America Trucking Show – MATS

Last year, I took my kids to the Mid-America Trucking Show.  This year,  Dad and I are going to MATS and we are looking forward to some networking and new technology review.  There will be some exciting new things happening here at TruckingOffice this year, so stay tuned for updates after MATS.

I know that most of you like to include your family when you go to MATS.  It’s a great way to introduce them to the trucking world, and I can’t think of a better way for them to see the best that trucking has out there.  But it’s not just about how great the trucks look. It’s not just about the industry.  It’s about the people I meet there.  The stories I hear and the things I learn – you can’t get that anyplace else.

This year, I’m listening to truckers talk about electronic driver log books.  Many of the drivers I know are not happy about it.   There’s no predicting what a trucker will say – only that a trucker will have an opinion about it!

One thing I’m liking about this year’s show is the MATS app for my smartphone.  It looks pretty good on my desktop computer so I’m betting it will help me when I get onto those display floors.  (If I take my kids back next year, I’ll make sure we all download the app so we can find each other.)  I’ve got my eye on a couple of vendors I want to check out – it will be a lot easier with that app.

I’m looking at the pictures on the website from the PKY Truck Beauty Championship from last year.  I remember talking to my kids about their favorites.  I should ask them if they remember who they liked and if those trucks won.

Stop and Say Hello at MATS

If you see me at MATS this year, come on over and say hello.  We don’t have to talk about TruckingOffice rolling out new dispatch options.  We can talk about what you’re seeing on the road and in the future of trucking.  I’d like to hear what you have to say about our industry.
