Oklahoma, also known as the “Sooner State” is located in Southern United States with a population of about 4 million people. To receive an IFTA license in Oklahoma you must complete an application and submit it to the Oklahoma Corporation Commission. There is currently no charge for the license, however there is a $2 fee for each set of decals. Each qualified vehicle is required to have a set of decals.<\/p>\n

State Requirements IFTA Oklahoma Licensing<\/span><\/h2>\n

As a professional trucker in the state of Oklahoma, you will have many questions about the International Fuel Tax Agreement and how it applies to you. \u00a0Your first question probably has to do with whether you need to apply for an IFTA license. Under the <\/span>IFTA Oklahoma<\/span><\/a> regulations, you need to apply for IFTA permits if:<\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Your business is based in Oklahoma and all operational controls and records are maintained in and can be made available to the state.<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. You travel interstate with a qualified motor vehicle. A list of the IFTA vehicle qualifications can be found <\/span>here<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    As an alternative to obtaining an IFTA license, you may purchase a 120-hour fuel permit. \u00a0These permits must be purchased each time your vehicle(s) accrue mileage across state lines. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    You will pay fuel taxes each quarter to your base jurisdiction. \u00a0The base jurisdiction will then disburse the taxes to the jurisdictions on your route. The taxes are based on the mileage traveled in each jurisdiction, the fuel tax rates in each jurisdiction, and the fuel efficiency of your motor vehicle(s). \u00a0The IFTA then assesses any additional fuel taxes and any over-payments made. The IFTA quarterly fuel tax reports are due on the following dates:<\/span><\/p>\n
