Located in the Midwestern United States is Kansas, or otherwise known as the “The Sunflower State.” In order to receive an IFTA license you will need to submit an application to the Kansas Department of Revenue. Currently there is a $10 for the first qualified motor vehicle and an additional $1.00 for each additional vehicle. There are currently no charges for decals in Kansas.<\/p>\n

Kansas State IFTA Requirements for Licensing<\/span><\/h3>\n

You\u2019ve earned your CDL and are now a proud new member of the trucking industry. \u00a0Congratulations! We hope you enjoy the freedom of the open road and build a successful business. \u00a0As a trucker, you\u2019ll need to learn about IFTA requirements and determine whether it applies to you. Here are some of the main things you need to know about IFTA Kansas.<\/span><\/p>\n

Members of the trucking industry and the U.S. Government created the International Fuel Tax Agreement to make it easier to report, collect, and disburse fuel use taxes. \u00a0Members include 48 contiguous states in the U.S. and 10 Canadian provinces. If your business is based in the member state of Kansas, and you operate in two or more member jurisdictions, you are required to file a Kansas IFTA application.<\/a> \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Before filing for the IFTA license, you need to determine if your vehicle(s) qualify. \u00a0A vehicle qualifies for a license if it meets the criteria found <\/span>here<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

When you receive your IFTA permit and IFTA decals, you have until the end of February to display them. \u00a0The vehicle(s) must have a decal displayed on each side of the cab and a copy of the license on board at all times. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As a member of the IFTA, you\u2019ll also be required to file quarterly fuel use tax reports. \u00a0The report should indicate total miles traveled in each jurisdiction, total gallons of fuel purchased and used in each jurisdiction, and the amount of fuel taxes paid and the tax rate for each jurisdiction. \u00a0Here are the scheduled due dates for each quarter:<\/span><\/p>\n

Renewing Your Kansas IFTA License and IFTA Sticker Grace Period<\/span><\/h3>\n
