Idaho, or the “Gem State” is the 14th largest state in the U.S. with a population of about 1.6 million people. The best way to receive an IFTA license for qualified motor vehicles in Idaho is to apply online and submit all needed information. The current processing fee is $10 and each set of IFTA decals are 60 cents. You must have two decals on your vehicle.<\/p>\n

State Requirements Idaho IFTA Licensing<\/span><\/h2>\n

Congratulations! \u00a0You\u2019ve earned your CDL and are ready to get on the road. \u00a0But, like the other truckers in the U.S., you are more than a little confused about the IFTA requirements and regulations. \u00a0The first question most truckers ask is \u201cAm I required to apply for an IFTA Idaho license?\u201d The answer: If you are based and registered in a member state and operate in two or more member jurisdictions, you are required to apply for an IFTA permit<\/a>. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Before submitting an IFTA license application, you need to know if your vehicle qualifies. \u00a0A permit is required if your vehicle:<\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Is designed, used, and maintained for transporting persons or property.<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Has two axles and a GVW or registered GVW in excess of 26,000 \u00a0pounds.<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Has three or more axles regardless of weight.<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. Has a combination weight that exceeds 26,000 pounds.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    You\u2019ll be required to file and pay quarterly IFTA fuel use taxes. \u00a0You\u2019ll need to keep track of all fuel purchased and used in each jurisdiction on your route for each quarter of the year. \u00a0The Idaho IFTA fuel tax form is found <\/span>here<\/span><\/a>. \u00a0Due dates for filing are as follows:<\/span><\/p>\n
