is located in the Northeastern and Mid-Atlantic region of the United States with a population of about 13 million. Currently Pennsylvania requires you to submit an application to the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue, Bureau of Motor Fuel Taxes. There is no fee to submit an application however there is $5 decal fee for each qualified vehicle on your fleet.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">State Requirements IFTA Pennsylvania Licensing<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Pennsylvania is one of 48 U.S. states and 10 Canadian provinces which are part of the International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA). This agreement simplifies the process of fuel tax assessment and collection for everyone in the trucking industry. Prior to this agreement, truckers had to apply for permits from whom they they accrued mileage. Continue reading to find out what the current IFTA Pennsylvania requirements are and whether or not your vehicles qualify for IFTA. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Currently IFTA Pennsylvania requires you to submit an application to the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue, Bureau of Motor Fuel Taxes. There is not a fee for the application, but there is a $5 fee for the IFTA decals for each qualified vehicle in your fleet. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">To travel across more than one member jurisdiction, qualified motor vehicles must obtain a license and <\/span><a href=\"..\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">IFTA decals<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. \u00a0A qualified vehicle is one that is designed, maintained, and used to transport persons or property, and meets the following stipulations:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Has two axles and a GVW or registered GVW that exceeds 26,000 pounds, or;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Is used in combination when the weight of such combination is more than 26,000 pounds GVW or registered GVW, or;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Has three axles, regardless of weight.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Pennsylvania is your base jurisdiction if you should register your vehicles in the state, maintain operational control and records in the state, and accrue mileage in the state. \u00a0If your application for a license is approved, you\u2019ll receive one license and two IFTA decals for each registered vehicle. A copy of the license must be carried inside the cab, and one IFTA decal must be affixed to each side of the cab\u2019s exterior. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">As an IFTA licensee, your quarterly fuel use taxes are due as follows:<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<table>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<th colspan=\"2\">\n<h3>Quarterly IFTA Due Dates<\/h3>\n<\/th>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><b>Q1<\/b> January &#8211; March<\/td>\n<td>April 30<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><b>Q2<\/b> April &#8211; June<\/td>\n<td>July 31<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><b>Q3<\/b> July &#8211; September<\/td>\n<td>October 31<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><b>Q4<\/b> October &#8211; December<\/td>\n<td>January 31<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<div class=\"et-fb-loader\" style=\"margin-bottom: 40px\"><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Failing to file your quarterly fuel use taxes before the due date could result in a fine of 10% of total dates due or $50, whichever is greater. Delinquent filing or payments can interfere with renewing your IFTA license and decals. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Renewing Your Pennsylvania IFTA License<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Your IFTA license and decals expire each year on December 31st. If you have not received your decals by this date, Pennsylvania offers a grace period, which extends through February of the following year. During this time, you will need to keep your current license and decals displayed until the replacements arrive. To avoid any such delays or penalties, you should submit your IFTA license application before November 30th. \u00a0If you are not compliant with all IFTA fuel use taxes, your application will not be approved. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">IFTA Pennsylvania allows you to file for your ifta sticker renewal electronically.
