New Hampshire or otherwise known as “The Granite State” is located in the Northeastern part of the United States and currently has a population of about 1.3 million people. To receive your IFTA license you can submit an application to the Department of Safety, Road Toll Bureau. New Hampshire currently charges $10 per set of decals and you must have one set for each qualified motor vehicle.<\/p>\n

State Requirements IFTA New Hampshire Licensing<\/span><\/h2>\n

 <\/p>\n

New Hampshire is one of 48 states in the U.S. that has joined the International Fuel Tax Agreement. \u00a0What does this mean for truckers? Truckers who travel in this state and at least one other IFTA member jurisdiction are required to report the amount of fuel purchased, fuel used, and miles traveled in that state. \u00a0If New Hampshire is your base jurisdiction, the state is responsible for collecting and disbursing the taxes among other jurisdictions on your route. These are the qualifications for <\/span>IFTA New Hampshire<\/span><\/a> licensing:<\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. You must have an established business in the state.<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. All operational controls and records are maintained and can be made available in the state. <\/span><\/li>\n
  3. You operate one or more qualified vehicles that accrue mileage in New Hampshire and at least one other IFTA member jurisdiction.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    A qualifying vehicle is defined as one that is designed, maintained, and used for transporting people or property; has two axles and a GVW of more than 26,000 pounds; three axles regardless of weight, or a combination GVW of more than 26,000 pounds. <\/span><\/p>\n

    As an IFTA licensee, you are required to keep track of all fuel expenses and mileage in each jurisdiction on your route. \u00a0You will need to submit quarterly IFTA fuel use tax reports to your base jurisdiction. The IFTA quarterly fuel tax schedule is as follows:<\/span><\/p>\n

    Failure to file on time can result in penalties of 10% of the total tax liability, or $50, whichever is more. \u00a0Delinquent IFTA fuel use taxes can interfere with renewing your license and IFTA decals. Most states send the forms well ahead of the due date to ensure that you file on time. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    Once you receive your IFTA license and decals, you can get out there on the road and start earning money. \u00a0Before you do, be sure a copy of the license is in the cab of your vehicle and your IFTA decal is displayed on each side of the cab\u2019s exterior.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Your IFTA New Hampshire license and decals are valid for one year, expiring on December 31st. \u00a0It\u2019s best to submit your application for renewal by November 30th to avoid any delays. The IFTA allows a grace period through February to display renewal IFTA stickers, but you must have submitted your application on time for the grace period to apply. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
