Are you getting started as an truck owner-operator?  Don’t buy an ELD now!

Yes, I know that it’s got to be on your truck this year.

But don’t buy it now.  Not yet.

You need to be sure that the ELD you buy will be compliant and manage your data safely.

TruckingOffice released its ELD in 2017.  That means we’ve been in the ELD business for 5 years now.  We know what you need:  an ELD that is

  • Simple to install
  • Easy to use
  • Compliant with government regulations.

Why You Need an ELD

Per the ELD standards established by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), trucking companies are required to install electronic logging devices in their vehicles to replace the traditional paper logbooks that drivers once used to record their driving hours. An ELD is a small device that plugs into a port below the dashboard and automatically links up with the truck engine to record vehicle movements throughout the day. ELDs are designed to record driving activities and driving time and they also monitor other important information. Such as location, engine hours, ignition and power status, and the total number of miles driven in each jurisdiction and state, which is helpful for IFTA fuel tax purposes.

The main objective of the ELD mandate is to help commercial truck drivers accurately track their hours and maintain compliance with Hours of Service (HOS) regulations. The new law is also meant to minimize driver fatigue and reduce the risk of trucking accidents on U.S. roadways. Federal HOS regulations allow commercial truck drivers to drive a maximum of 11 hours after spending 10 consecutive hours off duty and violating these regulations can have harsh consequences. If you want to remain compliant with government regulations and avoid an HOS violation, you will need an ELD that is designed specifically with owner-operators and small fleet managers in mind.

Why TruckingOffice’s ELD?

We’ve spent nearly a decade producing a software designed with owner-operators and fleet builders in mind.  We’ve got a trucker on the team to help us keep us on track for producing a software that’s specifically designed for truckers.  That’s the kind of commitment we have to our clients. We’ve got the basics covered the best it can be done.  We don’t have the extras that a big trucking company might require, but the small fleet manager or the owner-operator doesn’t need.  We have what you need in a complete trucking management software system:

A complete trucking software system uses your data multiple ways.  From distpatch through invoice, trucking software needs to manage

  • Billing
  • Miles per state
  • IFTA reports
  • IRP reports
  • Maintenance scheduling and records
  • Driver settlements
  • Trucking business reports.

You can manage your entire business with just our TMS software.

That’s what we’re bringing to the ELD field.

A commitment to excellence for truckers – not some programmer who thinks that something “special” is what we want.

When it comes down to it, we want a product that is simple to set up and easy to use.  We want confidence that the product is compliant.  To be sure we’re buying something that won’t break down in a couple of months.  We want the support we’ll need if something happens.

That’s what we want too.

Don’t buy the ELD.  Not yet.

Not until you look at TruckingOffice.  You will get a compliant system that will work for you without driving you crazy.
